London, ON has a new official City Bird: the Northern Cardinal

In celebration of our City Bird, we are excited to launch the City Bird art competition!

NOTE: This competition has closed and this page has been archived. Please stay tuned for future opportunities to submit bird artwork and photography. You can still submit Northern Cardinal artwork and photos to be featured in our gallery by emailing birdfriendlylondon at gmail.com.

We are inviting submissions of Cardinal-themed art including photography, paintings, drawings or other creative media. Three competition winners will selected by the London Bird Team and announced on September 20th 2021. Each winner will receive a prize pack containing:

• Various goodies from FeatherFields Bird and Garden Store

• A hat and T-shirt from Salthaven Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Centre

• A pass to Fanshawe Conservation Area supplied by Upper Thames River Conservation Authority

• A roll of Feather Friendly DIY Tape for window retrofits supplied by London Environmental Network

Submitted photography and artwork will be featured on Bird Friendly London social media feeds and posted on a dedicated page on this website after the competition ends.

Entering the competition is simple:

1. Post your Cardinal-themed entry on social media and use the hashtag #BirdFriendlyLdn. We will be receiving entries on Instagram, Twitter or in the Bird Friendly London Facebook group. Alternatively, you can email your entry to birdfriendlylondon@gmail.com

2. Fill out the entry form below with details about your submission.

Competition rules:

• Entries must feature / be based on the Northern Cardinal

• Artwork must be your own (i.e., photographs or other artwork produced by you)

• Any medium is allowed

• You may submit multiple entries, but can only win one prize

• Artwork must be family-friendly

The deadline for submissions is Friday September 17th at 11:59 pm. Entries submitted after the deadline can still be included in our website and social media features but will not be considered for the competition.
